Dear Vista Staff, Students, Parents, and Community Members,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Vista / Pathways High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school community with such great teachers, students and parents.
I have served the LUSD community both at Firebaugh High School and Cesar Chavez Middle school as an Assistant Principal. I am excited to continue to bring my skills as an educational leader to Vista HIgh School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure the success of our scholars. Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the success established at Vista HIgh School, by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners.
The 2020-2021 school year will be the first time in the history of Vista High School that we will start off the year with distance learning. Although the beginning of the school year is not what we may have hoped for, we will continue to seek ways to make sure our scholars' experience with distant learning is as pleasurable as possible with minimal disruptions to their learning. Furthermore, we will continue to explore ways to ensure all students are college and career ready and continue to support our scholars to achieve their personal aspirations.

As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who walks through our doors-teachers, students and parents - feel welcome here. I look forward to meeting you all and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to share.

Warm Regards,
Ramon Enriquez

Dolores Huerta Day

The Governor of California has declared April 10th as Dolores Huerta Day! We honor this civil rights leader! Well deserved! Dolores Clara Fernández Huerta (born April 10, 1930) is an American labor leader and civil rights activist who, with Cesar Chavez, is a co-founder of the National Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). Huerta helped organize the Delano grape strike in 1965 in California and was the lead negotiator in the workers' contract that was created after the strike.
