Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony Rules and Guidelines

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 graduates!

This year’s ceremony will be held on Monday, June 9th at the Lynwood High School Gymnasium on Imperial Hwy. We want to ensure we provide your graduates with the most memorable commencement ceremony; therefore we need all our graduates and their guests to follow our guidelines in order to have a successful ceremony. The following guidelines will be strictly enforced.
Arrive on time! Graduates will be required to be at Lynwood High at 12:45 pm and check in upon arrival. Students are expected to check in at least one hour prior to the commencement ceremony.
Entrance to the Gymnasium will be only from the Imperial Highway at the school’s main entrance. The parking garage will be opened and additional parking will be available in front of the school. All graduates will be asked to invite 6 guests. No tickets will be required for the commencement ceremony.
Doors to the gymnasium, for guests, will open at 1:30 pm. Please talk to your student so you will know what side to sit on for a closer view at your graduate. There is plenty of seating for all. Please respect all handicap and wheelchair access areas. Strollers will not be allowed into the bleacher sitting areas. Stroller parking is available outside the gym at your own risk.
All graduates, parents/guardians and guests will be screened on the way in. Please keep any illegal, dangerous and prohibited items at home. The following items are not allowed on school grounds:
Drugs, alcohol and tobacco products
Lighters/matches
Pocket knives or any sharp items
Air Horns / Noise makers
Confetti, Silly String, and any other messy items will not be allowed.
Oversized signs, balloon arrangements or anything that can obstruct the view of others sitting behind you.
At the end of the ceremony, all guests will be asked to clear the bleachers and relocate to the front of the campus to meet their student. Graduates will not be released until the bleachers have been cleared. Live music such as “Bandas” and “Mariachis” need to be off school grounds.
Diplomas will be given to the students on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11. All school fines must be cleared in order to collect their diplomas. This includes returning textbooks to their previous schools and the school issued Chromebook and charger.
Dress code is very important on graduation.
The suggested dress code is business casual.
Stiletto high heels are strongly discouraged since they pose risk of slips and falls.
Students are expected to arrive in their school issued cap and gown. Students can decorate their caps but will be screened for appropriate school content.

If you have any questions please contact the school at (310) 603-1516.
